Unable to play Flick Cricket Pro

Hi,

I liked the free version and bought the PRO version this morning. But I am unable to play the game. When I press on "New Normal Game" it takes me to the game settings page, but it does not have a "start game" button.

Please help.

Thanks,

a couple of things you can try

Hi,

Thanks for your support - I feel terrible that you haven't been able to join in :(

Firstly, the start button only shows on the main selection screen (the one with the header "Game Settings (Tap to Change)"). Make sure you are on that screen.

If you ARE on that screen and the button is definately not there, we can try forcing it to redraw for you...

When you are on that screen (headed "Game Settings...") scroll the screen up with your finger so the top item disappears of the top of the screen (by default this is the Overs selection) and then let go. The list will pop back down again, and the button should then appear.

Can I ask if you had loaded you Facebook friends (by clicking on add Facebook friend on the player customisation screen) before this happened? If so, can I be really personal and ask how long your list of friends is? I think it may be related...I had a note from someone else with a reasonably large list who had this happen a couple of times.

Please give me an update on how you go!

Thanks again for your support - I'm working hard on submitting a new version to Apple shortly with some surprises for Pro users, refinements for Normal, and a couple of small fixes for everyone.

Cheers,

Glenn

Me too :(

Hi, I really did like this game, so I bought pro, but I have the same problem as the Start Game button in 'New Normal Game' just isn't there :(
I've tried the 'scrolling up' tip, and all standard things like uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing has worked.

I read your reply, and if it helps, I tried to pick a facebook team, and if you need to know the number of friends, I have 155.

I hope you can get this fixed :)

Thanks in advance.

re:can't play

Hi Mate - I really appreciate you guys supporting me with a purchase, so I will definitely get a fix sorted for you and a release ASAP.

I'll see if I can find another workaround for you too.

I couldn't recreate the problem here on three devices - can you please tell me what you are running (iPhone/GS, iPod Touch) and the OS (2.2.1 or 3.0) so I can make sure I can replicate.

Also, is it only the button missing or the entire blue bar underneath? (Check out http://flickcricket.com/node/13 for reference).

Cheers,

Glenn

re:

Hiya, thanks a lot for trying to sort it out. :)

I'm on a 2nd generation iPod touch myself, and I'm not using OS 3.0, so I guess it would be 2.2.1.

I'm missing the entire blue bar as well as the button.

Cheers,
D

Yep - I can now replicate it

Confirming that I can now replicate the issue on iPod Touch 2.2.1.

OS 3.0 on all devices works just fine, but as soon as I went back to 2.2.1 on iPod Touch (either gen 1 or 2) it disappeared again.

In the code now to try and make it display.

Fix is now in the code for the next release...

For anyone running iPod Touches on 2.2.1 that can't see the start button, there is a fix in the next release.

The only workaround in the meantime is updating to 3.0. As an iPod Touch user myself I was pretty annoyed at having to pay for it, so I'll understand if you don't!

Sorry for letting that one get through!

Glenn

Thanks

So it'll be fixed the next update?

Thanks :)

I probably will be upgrading in the near future.

Cheers,
D

fixed in the next update

I just typed out a response to your Music question asking if you were thinking of upgrading :)

Yep - there is an update being submitted today with this change. Unfortunately I can't give you a date for when you will be able to upgrade, as Apple needs to review it. I'll keep you posted!
