Ability to choose bowling role for each player
I would like to have my opening batsmenb be able to bowl spin or my wicketkeeper to bat 1 down etc. Or either that or be able to give everyone a bowling style or the gloves. Thanks and great job so far!
Difficulty Levels
I was just wondering if having sometime like an easy, medium and hard level for chasing set targets would be a good idea.
It's the game I play most often and the scores get a bit too high sometimes like constantly requiring me to chase 140+ runs in the 5 over game.
I get tired of losing all the time, until the game resets itself!
Maybe an easy level 100-115, medium 115-130 and hard 130-140?
and then the multiples for 10 and 20 over games, with a reduced multiple for the 50 over game?
Great game btw, I'm completely addicted to it!
:)
PLAYER STATS
Hi Glenn,
Please add 'Player Stats' in the PRO Version and also if the game can tell 'Man of the match' that would be awesome!
Background Crowd Noise
I've had a couple of requests through the AppStore to remove it entirely, or allow volume adjustment....do you agree??
Invite user
I'm not sure if it has ben mentioned, but it would be nice to invite a user from the contact list on your phone. I have several friends with an iPhone and it would be awesome to send an invite to them to be a part of your team, or part of an opposing team. When using them, it could inform them of their stats via PUSH.
This would go really well with having a league or history for that user, which I guess lends it self more to a management style game, but hey, why not keep making it better ;)
DIFFICULTY
Great game, I'm really hooked, but have no problems winning every time, and feel that it should be more challenging.
The main reason for this is that I can usually bowl the opposing team out for very little by using slower deliveries, bowling stump to stump or concentrating on off stump (presuming that the batsman is right-handed.
What I think you need in order to sort this out is a difficulty setting where the higher the setting the less likely a batsman is to get out, and also the quicker they score runs.
I can usually get to about 80-100 runs off a 5 over game, and the opposing team never scores anywhere near that sort of rate.
It would also be great to see a complete scorecard after the whole game (or after each innings)
Cheers
Chris
A few things really
This is a pretty addictive game. The functions of it are pretty good, but can you concentrate on sorting a few bugs out in it first before adding anything really new? Theres a few things I'd like to see modified, these all comes from evaluating the pro version.
- Flick Cricket seems unable to recall what its stored. I've lost my facebook team before now, and the settings don't stay consistent. For instance, I'll play a 5 over game batting to a target, finish it then go to a new game. The settings say I'm about to play a 5 over batting to target, but really it sends me to a bat first, then bowl game. I'm not sure if it matters much, but I am still on the old software version of the ipod touch, and am planning on getting the new one soon. I'll get back to you on that point and whether the update helps.
- Stats. Great I've beaten my record, but what was that record to begin with? Is there any way of listing previous stats. Highest individual score, biggest run chase achieved etc. Similarly allow people to see a scorecard after the match has been won or lost.
- THAT CURSED CONNECT BUTTON!!! Its a right pain in the backside! If you really must keep it there, please freeze the game or something when you hit the connect button. The amount of wickets I've lost due to that is stressful.
Other than those points, a class game and worth the money. There are many things I could think of to take the game a level further (tests, competitions, incorporate the super over, be able to practise) but please, iron these creases out first. For a cricket fan like myself it hits the right spots and I'd be happy paying a couple of quid for it. With a bit of work its probably one of the better iphone games out there.
a few more ideas
Just a few more ideas that have come to mind, take or leave what you want. any constructive criticism also welcome from others.
-Cricket score updates
i don't know if this is possible but as it is a cricket game some people might like to know the scores of recent or ongoing games maybe scrolling along the bottom every so often and with the ability to choose teams to be updated on?
-leagues, series, leaderboards
if you are adding more teams it might be quite fun to add a league or series so they can battle it out in so many overs to see who is the best, maybe this could work with multiplayer as well
leagues could have four or more teams and series could be between two teams?
-achievements, challenges
something similar to what the xbox 360 has where you have a list of things to achieve if you want ranging from easy to difficult that may add another layer for more experienced flick cricketers. i have a list of ideas for some, if you want i can post them.
-spin offs?
maybe for after you've finished everything with flick cricket you could work on spin offs such as flick cricket manager or in different sports such as flick golf, just an idea
these are just some newer ones that i dont think have been said before
thanks
ff
a few ideas
heres just a few ideas that would be cool to see in flick cricket, some may have been stated before sorry to repeat
-changeable team names
-ability to change order of team so spinners arent always at 5/6
-more stats including ones over a few games such as batting average and the ability to see your previous high scores and best bowling figures
-ability to see scorecard after game
-test cricket so you can have 2 innings
-maybe an option whether to toss a coin to see if you bat first
-differing pitchs that favour spin, pace or swing bowlers ?
-ability to change bowling length maybe for an occasional bouncer if possible
-im not quite sure how it might be implemented but lbws possibly if you miss it and its heading for the stumps occasionally would come up as lbw ?
-maybe have an option for fielding restrictions if you so chose
-tournaments such as world cup and test series ?
-more customisable team colours
-multiplayer, though i know you are working hard on this
EDIT: i forgot to add difficulty levels as at the moment i average 300-400 on a 50 over game but i can usually bowl the other team out for 100-180 sometimes as low as 86 it would be nice for it to be closer if possible
thats all i can think of at the moment and even if one or two of these are added i will be even more pleased
thanks for taking the time to listen
EDIT: another one i remembered, would it be possible to allow you to be able to listen to music from your ipod whilst playing and maybe the ability to turn the crowds off, also it might be quite fun to add shouts of howzat! from the fielders if possible
My list
- When you play a different game mode (i.e bat to target), and you then want to play another game afterwards, it shows that that game mode is still selected, but if you go into the menu it has actually gone back to "Bat first, then bowl"
- When you get to a milestone it says "XXXX has score 50 runs", not "scored"
- It would be good to be able to see both teams' scorecards at all times, including after the game has finished
- When an over is finished, the next bowler window comes up instantly when the ball is out of play, so you cant tell if you hit a 4 or a 6 for instance. Perhaps instead after the last ball, the "Next ball" button could be "Next over". Or just have a second or twos delay instead of it being instant.
- A game difficulty setting would be very good too
- In the bowling window could you have two slider stats like when you are batting. Perhaps one could be for the length of the ball, and the other for pace. I was thinking that perhaps the pace could be like the stroke length in batting. If you go too fast (into the red) the the accuracy drops off, and maybe you could have chance of a no ball, leading to a free hit?
- The fielders are pretty stupid. for example if they are sitting on the boundary and you hit a ball very close to them, instead of running sideways to where the ball will be, they run forwards towards it, and it shoots just past them and out for a 4. I have no idea about programming AI so I don't know if that's easy to do or not.
- Maybe it would be good when you are batting to have an indicator of where your stroke was, like when the computer bats.
- If you have just taken a wicket you can't really adjust your field, as all the fielders are huddled in to the wicket. I think when you press the "Adjust field" button they should all go back to their default places.
- A stats page is essential (you know what cricket people are like!) so that you can see your highest scores. I would like to see highest teams scores, highest individual total, highest individual cumulative, and highest individual run rate.
- Maybe make the bowlers worse as you go down the order, or at least make the bowlers worse than the batsmen?
- Wicketkeeping; sometimes the wicket keeper will join 4 other fielders to chase a ball to the boundary! If they then throw the ball back to the stumps when your player is safe, there is sometimes enough time to take a run again. But you will then be run out, when the ball is just sitting on the ground with no one to stump you!
- In the 5 over run chase it gives you some stupid targets - I think the highest I've had was 125! I once got 118, but that's about 1 in 1000 times. Perhaps this could be related to the difficulty setting?
- Finally, is there meant to be sound? Twice when I've been playing and the phone rang just as I was bowled out (the first time) and I think, scored a 4 the second, there was a cheering sound. But at no other point have I heard that (and I have played a lot!). Am I going mad?
I think that's it for now. Please don't think that I don't like the game, I do very much. I have the pro version, and last night got my best innings of 730, with one payer getting 362. (sorry for the boasting). I'm looking forward to multiplayer, that sounds like fun.
Cheers
